Pravara Public School was established in 1964 consequent upon the zeal and visionary efforts of late Padmashri Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the pioneer of Co-operative Movement and the founder of the first co-operative sugar factory in the country (1949). The School admits boys as boarders (Class I to XII) and both boys and girls as day-scholars (LKG to XII)

The School has the necessary infrastructure and all modern amenities of life. Application for admission should be made to the Director on the prescribed form obtainable from the School office. Admission is open to all, irrespective of caste, creed or community. Normally boarders are admitted only to the first standard in Feb to May. However, admissions for other classes may be considered on the basis of availability of seats, priority for which will be given to boarders. Students will be screened for suitability for admission.
Pravara Public School follows the syllabus prescribed by Department of Education, Govt. of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune. The School also has a trained Career Counsellor.
PRAVARA CENTRAL PUBLIC SCHOOL An off-shoot of the School, which is co-located, follows the syllabus prescribed by Central Board of Secondary Education,(CBSE) Delhi. This school shares the hostels and other infrastructure of PPS and has the same ethos.

The School conducts classes from LKG to Std XII (Science).
